Many have asked if there was a way we could set up a subscription service for the site. Well, I have gone ahead and set it up. For right now, it is set up for 10 dollars per month. To add a little more value to this service, a subscription will give access to a special section of the forums, were we will post info regarding special events, etc.

The subscription system is mainly a method af allowing regular donations to the site, which numerous people had requested. We are working on adding some additional exclusive services to show appreciation for donating.

Server #3 has been....ummmm....converted. It is now our 3rd CTF server. Currently, it is running a little collection of "spammish" maps (smaller maps, lots of action). However, it will soon be used for some of the aforementioned "special events".

I don't think anyone will disagree with me when I say that the Playground is the best and finest UT community online! Today I contributed some more money and urge my fellow players to do the same!

Too many hoops to jump through, and everytime I get close to being able to pay with it, some random thing comes up and I have to completely re-register, like it doesn't have my FUXXXORING CHECKING ACCOUNT NUMBER ALREADY! When I used PayPal the first time it only made 1 payment and stopped..all by it self.

So when I finally figured out no payments were being made...I made a lump sum donation to equal a year. It was tough..but it worked out.

So if ANYONE has contacted you squid...be patient. They also have to wait for records to show up..like you do.

Peeps like me on s3 are NOT elite.

Just good sportspersonship is encouraged.

So take a deep breath and relax.

Idea:

To improve the ease of contributing to the Playground, would it make sense to allow check and money order payments? I'm not sure about the business state of UP, wether it's a non-profit org., licensed business, or even if that matters, but it would sure make it easier for more peeps to contribute.

I've mentioned this breefly in the past, but thought I would restate it. I'll PM some admins too.

Maybe this would help define the graylines, and help everyone understand the playground more, i have been around over a year and 1/2...and there are still so many things that go on here i have no idea how they work or whose working them....... hehe. I dont play ut anymore and only play ut2k3.

anyways so maybe you should put up a page that explains the diff between "staff" "member" a "subscriber" a "registurd peon"

I am assuming a "member" is a donator and or staff or UP help and a subscriber will be a monthly payer and maybe staff or UP help....

list either the benefits of those levels or what the person has access to. skins / special avatars / special sigs / name in lights / uber secret forums / map selections / veto votes / Member Nights / Subscriber nights / members vs Subscribers nights /


BTW would be great if we had a link on the front page to a page that showed the status of the servers (based on visitor / member / subsciber ) status = current map / players...etc i thought we had this for the ut servers. this also would be a great place to list what maps and server settings (bots , speed, TL, mutators,....) are at. so i dont have to go dig through the forums to find out if a map i want to play is on there.

will there be voting on maps for the ut2k3 servers? just curious.

Also Mapping contests down the line for ut2k3?

Special mutator nights / or gameply type nights.... Bighead vampire night / or ig quad night..... etc.

UT2k3 CTF server #...... Every first monday of the month is "Bighead quad jump night" a in game message on the server would help tell people about this, and also inform them its only one night, so they dont stumble onto the server on the night the mut is running a dont come back because they think the server is like that every night.
