Hort and I put our heads together (ewww, cow breath...) and decided that, with UT2003 on the horizon, it would be cool to run some of the old classics on the #2 server. We have chosen a few that our senile old minds could remember, and the rest will be chosen by the winners of....

you guessed it....

SPOT THE MONK!!!!

Anyone remember this one???

When you see me in the game, post the time (with your time zone), and the map you spotted the monk in, and you can pick 2 maps for the rotation... within reason, of course.

Recon, Why did you shoot me? New map, I spawned and this 4 legged spider thing was chewin on my ass, I turned around and killed it, then you came by and shot me (hey same team).

I was like WTF, So I typed in What?, No answer?

You see, I was trying to think of even/like bases, a map big enough for 20 players, and multple flag return paths.

Don't get me wrong, I like Niven. It's a real challenge to get out of there with the flag. Lots of fun. I just want my minigun.

Played LavaGiant and November last night. Had a great time. We lost both games though. Sobe was kicking everyones butt. I haven't played those maps in ages. They're still loads of fun.

You know the little squirmy jumping face sucking leach in the movie ALIEN, Well it was a lot like that. LOL

It was right by our flag, and if FC would have come back it would have attaked him, since it already robbed me of 50% health with spawn rings on, Pffft It pissed me off so I killed it. Yeah it will come back, someplace else, I hope.

Niven, Well I hate to admit it, I like it. I used to play it ALOT with Instagib Clans, not being a clan member, kickin but, and havin a blast.

I still go back now and then to practice aim, playing at 130% speed Insta and coming back to 100% is like slow mo. :eek:

Ok, ok, let me redefine "classic" a little. Pick your favorite maps from UT, old or new. Just your alltime favs. Try to pick maps that were not included in the original game...

Oh I know. Just adding my 2 throwing stars worth of opinion. (Although I did try to cheat by seeing if he had an NG uid, Alas foiled.)

I'm not trying to push those original maps. I was just commenting on them. Lava and November probably take care of that first run of maps just fine.

Well, I've been playing spot the Monk, but nothing yet. You're not playing under an alias are you? Because last night I saw "DaMonk" on #2, in Temple of Horus about 3:15 EST. MadMikey was also there. Did I score a hit or a miss?
