Hello all my Tech help Friends:D

I was looking through my UT files and noticed that I have accumulated a great deal of cache file thingies. Almost 1 gig worth:eek: Anyway my question is can I safely remove these without harming anything in UT??????

Hey congratulations .. you knew the actual technical term! Just kidding.

It's unclear as to what you are refering to. But there are files ending in ".tmp" in the main Unreal Tournament folder (i.e. c:\unrealtournament).

These can be deleted, but undoubtedly will come back taking up the same amount of space. I believe the amount of space these files take up can be set under preferences under "Cache Size" or something similar.

Then there are the files with nonsense names in the "Cache" folder. These are maps,textures,sound,etc. files you downloaded while playing on Stealth and wherever else you played UT online. If you delete these files, you will have to redownload them again.

The cache program on my web site (and other similar utilities) will convert these files into their true file names.
