Mine used to take ages, i got more RAM and it loads much quicker now.
I used to spawn on the demo (Torlan) and the other players had reached the first nodes already.....
I had 256 DDR, i got another stick of 512 DDR and it's been excellent since.
Some maps still take a while though, but only the real BIG ones.....custom ones that have a LOT of texture / sound type addons.

Only trouble with turning that off is a lag whenever someone joins with a new skin, a freeze up at a critical moment can be frustrating.

I'm used with that lol especially when I play S5 lol being on the other side of the pond and all!!! hehe ping in excess of 200+ is a bummer.

200+ is a bummer, definitely, but mainly it's the speedhack thing that gets me.

It's packetloss dammit :hammer: gahhhh....

I gotta see if my ISP will do me a better routing, someone was talking about doing something like that a few days ago to get a better ping. :)

So instead of leaping all the way round europe before it makes it to US, it'd hop straight there and shave off some vital milliseconds. :D
