Can't hear voice chat yet?

My sound card seems ok. I can hear all the other game sounds fine. I've got the mic on me headset plugged in as well and it works fine in other aps. I have voice chat checked (or crossed) in settings. I can join the channels and I press my mic key to speak but.......
I can't hear voice chat and they can't hear me.
Everything else online seems ok, my connection is not great - only 64k isdn - just about ok for gameplay, but could that be the problem?
any offers? thanks

also, is there an option to move the chat area to the top of the screen like on classic UT??

It might be because you don't have any of the speech channels enabled. Also some people have problems hearing people with they have Hardware sound on. The fix is going to 3D audio. Just throwing out ideas. :type:

I know mine works, others hear me very well on most servers. However on some, it seems as if mic are not enabled.
