This forum may not really consist of members of the key demographic...but i saw it yesterday so id may as well express some thoughts...
Better than the other two (new director seems to have been a good choice). It did miss out some fairly important stuff from the book but i expect theyre saving it for the next film...
In other news, these are funny :p

Looking forward to seeing this.
We just had a new cinema open up now (thats two in out town :D ) thats fully digital so it should be here soon instead of the normal 3 month wait for movies from Adelaide.
My kids (and me :D ) are huge fans of the first two, they've got HP bags, plates, posters even dress up robes and wands.....lol. Duels in the backyard :D
BTW, those potter puppets....ROFLMAO.
"lets bother snape"
"bother, bother, bother, bother"
LOL

Good to hear about the cinema, and if you liked the first two you'll certainly like this one.

Loved it- it was MUCH better than the first two. Much better direction, lighting... had better visual heft and grit. Kids acting was deeper.
We really enjoyed it. There is much missing from the book but it holds together. Too bad the same director won't be doing number 5. It'll be the same guy that did Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Is he doing number 4 though?

Math deprived... no, I meant #4... The current director is only doing the one.

Saw this last night. Wow. So much better then the first two. I hear they have the director from Y tu mama Tambien directing it. Bizzare though since Y tu mama Tambien is risque to say the least.

Took my kids yesterday and like you all I thought it was great and a very complementary addition to the series.
One thing I noticed though.....the ground must've sunk where the "whomping willow" and Hagrid's cottage were. In this one they are down a big hill and in the first two they are just across a stretch of flat ground from Hogwart's Castle. Interesting tidbit, but no less enjoyable with the change.

You won't notice the packed cinema if you're seeing Shrek 2. :D
I can't wait to go see it again...
And just to be on topic, I'm actually considering going to see this one, though I should probably watch #2 just to be up to date. I've read the books through to #3, so I wouldn't miss any plot, but still...

Yeah- the director changed much of the geography and he castle itself. He wanted to change even more but decided he didn't want to fight that battle. His vision of the castle, etc looked much better, more real, IMO.

Hmmm... I don't know... I didn't really like the first two movies. I don't think I'm gonna see it, I do however love the books!

It was good but I thought I liked the first two better.
There were parts of the film, key parts, that were very rushed.
But all in all it was entertaining and fun so I can't recommend against it.

Had to watch the first 2 with my kids.. and of course the newest one.
Felt like they missed to much on the 3rd one. The ending was kinda lame and other parts did not get developed good enough. The first 2 were more complete and represented the books better IMO. The style of the 3rd one was good.. but it just didn't tell the story good enough.
Still.. it's not that bad.

I really enjoyed this one over the first two. Kudos to the director on cleaning up the gunk and actually giving the story some mood.

I'm undecided if I will see this 3rd movie. I saw the first two and didn't really like them. I thought they were dull.
I'm an avid reader of the fantasy genre but never got around to reading these books. Perhaps some day I will crack open one of the books and gain an appreciation of them.
But I'll probably wait until this ones out on video and then rent it.

it was a good movie but it left alot out that was in the book... and some of the next movie people will be wondering why the dursley's are being nicer to harry...they left the whole end sequence of the book out of the movie...
