Speed Cheat

:type: Hi All. Playing 2004 Has anyone else had the speed cheat warning come on a lot lately while playing games on line? At first I though it was just the sites I was in then I came to the realization that it's coming from me. If it is I don't know how I got it, and I defenitaley don't know how to turn it off. I went into instant game and checked the mutators out to make sure it wasn't on, and no it's not on. I unistalled the game and reinstalled it but that still didn't help.

I would apprechiate any help with this because I'm currently getting my ass waxed on my favorite ass kicking sites. I'M Not looking to good with the troops either. :dunno:

AFAIK the speed hack (which i get on the UP server) is caused by lag and can be triggered without actually having any cheat

Yes, thanks it is the speed hack and it's really starting to P*** me off. :evil:

To fix the speed hack problem server admins have to readjust the tick slack in their ini's. If a tick discrepancy is higher than a set amount it triggers the warning. Higher than 1.25 reduces false positives, but at the same time reduces the awareness.

I also notice this alot in LAN, when i try to change m settings and i am the host. any way to disable all together? since in LAN with 3 comps i know there isnt a hack lol

Yeah i had the same problems. This change to the ini file that the server is using worked for me "i think" Just add the last 3 lines.

Maybe some admin can make a sticky topic about this. There are threads popping up about it everywhere on the web. Would be good if people can see it's not them :rolleyes:
