Time to show you guys my muscular pythons! ;)
Lemme try and explain these 2:
The top on I designed by initially using the ying yang sign, then creatively inserting my initials L.D.M and the first 2 letters of my parents name A and D- can you see it?
The lower one is simply my name in Arabic- I have Lebanses ancestry.

As you can see, i'm a bit of a space fan.
They go right down my arm to the elbow (earth, venus, mercury and the sun).
And also, theres a few "below the belt".
No Uranus jokes please........
Now my mate is taking up the art, i want him to ink maybe 2000 +'s of differing sizes all around the system.

I was trying to get a photo of my wifes (shes got a cracker on her foot) but i kept getting told where to go....lol.
yeah ...lotta pain and all sober too.
I was watching a doco about traditional tattoos where they use a long ploe type thing, with a needle in the end, and they apply the tattoo almost like the artist is playing 8 ball......now thats gotta hurt.
Ever see anything like that? It was in Japan, and once you pick a tattoo artist, you have to see only that artist for the rest of your life.
demigod387
02-23-2004, 09:45 PM
absolutely! I've been getting tat magz for yearz and saw so many tattooing methodz(tattoos have been around for centurys as it is one of the oldest religous and story telling methods). There is one dude from Japan...i can't think of his name off-hand....you have to be friends with him for yearzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and let him get to know your true personality, feelings, goals , honor and share alot of your life with him. Then one day out of the blue he says "ok , i'll tattoo you now".You have no say in what he tattoos on your body.He creates the tat from what he knows about thru your time together and it can take years seeing as how most tradtional Japanese tats are complete bodywork.HOWs that for dedication?!!!
Lord_Simeon
02-23-2004, 09:52 PM
i wonder if thats the guy in the doco.
A woman was getting a massive back job done, of a red and black dragon. She already had most finished, as well as her whole leg and side.
The tatt artist was a pretty old guy too.
Then they started showing the burners, scar-ers, and the ones who get cut open, and insert ball bearings / rings under the skin........a bit to much for me.

demigod387
02-23-2004, 10:06 PM
might be the same guy....short, glasses, stocky and has a pony-tail.He uses the "tapping" technique .It involves several ice-pick looking instruments (all different gauges with different amount of needles on each for bold and fine line and fill-in effects)as oppose to your standard run-o-the-mill tatto gun.It takes an incredible amout of time, hand control and patience to administer.
There are many artists who now use this ancient form of tattooing but this guy is known around the world as the best. I personaly wouldn't have the patience to go thru that but i do respect the art greetly. I still have to finish the dragon b4 i start any other tats(been about 7 yearz since i touched it and have about 30 hourz left on it). I also plan to get another tat of equal purportion on the opposite side of my torso.I've been looking into an ancient mythalogical bird-man samurai (has the face and head of a hawk and body of samurai warrior , however its rare to find any really good drawings to work from.I think i have sum time left though :D
all that scarring and burning is bullsh*t to me....theres no story or beauty to it...its only pain for pains sake...thats sumthing totally different. :tsk:

what exactly is it showing?
It's from an artwork made by the dutch EMC Escher. He made a lot of wacky stuff, but also mindpuzzlin stuff. That tatoo shows how a worm he thoought up would move. There's also a really long story included with the original work where the worm is being examened in detail about his movement.

ok
that background kills my eyes... so here..
Hop,
Now that school is on break, I had time to sit down and translate Escher's curl-up note. I don't know why he didn't write professionally (maybe he did) .....This note is fantastic! Too bad it loses some of its "power" in the translation; but that is probably a result of my own limited language abilities. Dutch sentence structure is dramatically different than English, and they have "spreek-woorden" that are a bit like colloquialisms.....Only different (that brief preface should cloud things right up!).
Anyway, the tone of the letter is scientific; as though he is presenting preliminary findings to a group of colleagues. In my opinion, this note gives strong support to the potential value of the curl-ups as a concept for an exploratory probe; or perhaps a new generation of sophisticated off road (no road needed) vehicle. Okay, Iím babbling, so here you go:
"The curl-ups* came into existence (spontaneous generation), because of the absence, in nature, of wheel shaped, living creatures with the ability to roll themselves forward. The accompanying 'beastie' depiction, referred to as 'revolving bitch' or 'roll paunch' in laymen's terms, subsequently anticipates the need with sensitivity. Biological details are still few: is it a mammal, a reptile, or an insect? It has a long, drawn-out, horned, sectioned body and three sets of legs; the ends of which look like the human foot. In the middle of the fat, round head, that is provided with a strong, bent parrots beak, they have bulb-shaped eyes, which, placed on posts, protrude far out from both sides of the head. In the stretched out position, the animal can, slow and cautiously, with the use of his six legs, move forward over a variety of terrains (it can potentially climb or descend steep stairs, plow through bushes, or scramble over boulders). However, when it must cover a great distance, and has a relatively flat path to his disposal, he pushes his head to the ground and rolls himself up with lightning speed, at which time he pushes himself off with his legs- for as much as they can still touch the ground. In the rolled up state it exhibits the form of a discus, of which the eye posts are the central axle. By pushing off alternately with one of his three pairs of legs, he can achieve great speeds. It is also sometimes desirable during the rolling (i.e.. The descent of an incline, or coasting to a finish) to hold up the legs and 'freewheel' forward. Whenever it wants, it can return again to the walking position in two ways: first abruptly, by suddenly extending his body, but then it's lying on his back with his legs in the air, and second through gradual deceleration (braking with his feet) and slowly unrolling backwards in standing position." -MCE-
*Curl-Ups is what I used; but you may notice that Escher came up with a Latin title "Pedalternorotandomovens Centroculatus Articulosus"
A few years back, the guys at M.I.T.. Started switching their focus in robotics to "instinctive" neural networks. Insects are the inspiration for all the designs. Some would scoff at my next statement, but I think Escher was a classic "genius ahead-of-his-time" who can be likened to Da Vinci.
