which one will have the best "Ending"

Kind of hard to say since I haven't seen the ending to either of them. That's kind of like asking "Which is better, Doom III or Half-Life II".

I'll say LOTR. Just cause I know that ending.

(Looks like a program caught in a loop, huh?)Could it be that Neo is the check in that program that kicks it out of the loop? ;)

LOTR is a sure thing for a good ending. :)

I mean the first two movies went well. However, the third movie needs different pacing from the book if it to translate well to screen.

Impossible for LOR to dissapoint. Peter Jackson knows what he's doing.
Matrix, hard to say. I liked the first two so it's hard to imagine they'll suddenly blow it.

The REAL question is who will go see Star Wars Episode 3 when it comes out. Several of my friends have already promised a boycott. Too extreme?

you mean they actually made a third one? :p

Episode 3? I'm so pissed I paid to see the first two. Friggin Romper Room on crack with space toys. So I won't be attending episode 3. I've never seen the Matrix the whole way through. So I didn't see the 2nd one. Have nothing against it... But of the 3 LOTR books, ROTK was the tedious read of the 3 for me.

The Matrix is a great series, but is more style than substance to me. I'll have to watch the first two again before going to see Revolutions or what ever the name of the third is. LOTR is just such a part of my life having read and been transported to those worlds so many times growing up... well, I am just looking more forward to ROTK....:D

this is like asking me if i would rather have my left, or right arm amputated. I'm quite attached to both.

I don't think either one of these will disappoint. And one interesting thing to note about agent smith...

he goes off in the first movie about humans being like a "virus"...at the end of that movie, he is overtaken by neo (a virus, by his own definition.) now, agent smith replicates himself freely and performs malicious actions in on the system....

perhaps an unaccounted for viral infection? where is norton when you need him? :)

LOL-- it'd be clever if there was a new hero in th enew one named Norton...

For me, personally, Matrix Reloaded was so big a let-down that it completely ruined the series for me... I just can't seem to care about the story anymore. That said, I'm still going to see Revolutions tonight, but mostly to hang out with my friends and to see if the movie is half-decent.

Lord of the Rings is an entirely new level of quality, IMO. I am looking forward to Return of the King much more than any other movie. So far; LoTR 1 and 2 have been great, I have no reason to expect otherwise for 3. Matrix on the other hand....

*sigh* :sour:

I am inclined to agree with MP, but after what Idle posted, I am wondering if I am just not really getting the story... If so, that's the writer's fault. It's just a big ray-ban commercial anyway...

Has anyone figured out why Switch was the only one who dressed in white and didn't wear sunglasses?

Like MortalPLague said, and echoed by KingMango, I was very disappointed in the wachowskis for giving us matrix reloaded. The resentment dug up similar feelings I've apparently held all these years toward george lucas for releasing return of the jedi. I got my $9.00 back on the second matrix movie, so with the interest it's earned since then I may be able to afford to see ROTK...which reminds me, has anyone seen dildo_fraggins on the playground recently? That alias cracked me UP.

Now that I think about it, doofus' post about www.themeatrix.com was far more enjoyable than matrix reloaded. If I wanted special effects with no story, I'd rather go to a strip club!

never saw much of the matrix, as said above, a lot of style, no substance. as for the ROTK, i'm afraid most people will be disappointed, not in the ending but in how long it takes to get there. remember the book and the tedious, downright boring slogging thru Mordor? i will love it, after all i loved the ape scenes in 2001, but unless the producers do it right they'll have people walking out of the theaters.
i've already pre-ordered TT extended letterbox. has an extra 40 minutes of movie. alright!!

Hmm...I don't even think you can compare the two endings.

Matrix: Written by two brothers a few years ago.

LotR: Written by an Oxford professor decades ago; a universally loved fantasy novel translated onto the big screen.

If you had tried and tested material to work from that you KNOW everyone who is going to watch it loves, plus free reign and an entirely open budget, you too would be hard pressed to mess it up. The Matrix, on the other hand, can go 1 of 2 ways: 1) TRULY phenomenal and soon to be classic, or 2) the most dissappointing ending every contrived.

LotR ending is a sure thing, the Matrix is a flip of the coin. Apples and oranges, I'd say.

You might want to check out an A5 size(actually half that) book called Bored of the Rings - I think thats where it came from - a paralell story of LOTR.

i have to check out the script.. people were talking behind me at the same time i notice
it wasnt the same one as the 1,2 movie.. the thing i remember is "i still love candy"

the lady who played the oracle previously, passed away before completion of Revolutions. Possibly even before filming started...
