Been lots of rumor of Half Life 2 slipping the release date to Christmas. Valve just said that "the release date remains unchanged" meaning they may still actually be trying release in September.

That's very good to hear... and those screenshots look incredible... jaw-dropping, even. I can hardly wait for that game to hit store shelves- I just hope I have the money to buy it... :loopy:

"When it's done" ;)
But seriously.. better to ship a finished game than stick to a schedule, imo.

I think I need a new video card.

Last i heard this game was being hyped to run much better than other new game engines (doom3 in particular) and would be possible to play on more "mid range computers". Think someone mentioned the TNT2 but that might be stretching it a little...
Obviously it wont look anything like the above on min spec, but if its playable its playable right?

Don't expect any new maps, or map reviews when that comes out.
I'll be busy.

Valve just said that "the release date remains unchanged" meaning they may still actually be trying release in September.EBGames.com says, "Ships on 11/19/2003 (http://ebgames.com/ebx/product/235059.asp)." Maybe they just say that to avoid any disappointments if the September date slips. :dunno:

Frankly i want to see the editor...or at least some of the inevitable mods that come out.
Counter-strike 2 anyone?

Counter-strike 2 anyone?
As long as it has a shock rifle, dodging, and unlimited re-spawns.. sure!

Yeah what Creeper said... and plenty of shock cores, too.

The Valve editor is available as a free download. I've nosed around some in it. IHopetoGod is working with it some I believe. It's really nothing like the UT editor. Kinda the inverse of it in a way. It'll be the mappers "new math." :p

well CS2 may not be a good idea..i dunno, i got sick of the original ages ago. However, an unofficial TFC2 would be ace

The game will run on relatively low end pc's and even with a Directx6 video cards, but it will look like crap most likely. All the effects and models will be scaled down. I think I will definitely upgrade before playing this game, unfotunately my motherboard only supports processors up to 1.2 Ghz so it looks like I will have to tear down my system an rebuild it . Not sure when I'll be able to do that however. :)
