Hi gang!

We're all excited and proud of how this community is stepping forward to help defray the costs of Unreal Playground. There has been immense individual generosity in meeting our immediate need of $2,000. We're getting close thanks to you.

An update- the majority of the contributions have been larger, up-front donations which is GREAT. However, we still face the long term need of monthly fees totalling a few hundred a month. In that category we are lagging behind.

If you are not able to contribute a large amount now, please join at a small monthly level such as $5 or $10 per month or more. It is the monthly subscription that will help us see how far into the future we can manage the Playground as is. We now have a PO Box available for mail contributions; however, PayPal is a secure serice and has worked well for the Playground- I hope you will consider it.

Also- please PM us with any suggestions for additional revenue you might have, we will consider everything. We have considered and will continue to consider more elaborate hosting packages for clans and even non-UT related sites, advertising, etc. We will soon announce one deal that will help reduce some of our game server costs (already factored in to the needed dollars) so again- keep the ideas coming.

You've made it clear that the Playground is important, now is the time to put your money where your mouse is!

:)

How about an auction of goods..

I can donate a hand-crocheted blanket that you could auction off to people to generate money...

Just a thought.

Cool idea, CW.

Maybe we can have localized fund raisers..ie...Garage Sale with all of the peeps in the Dallas area or San Diego/LA.

Cyrus already volunteered his house for the Dallas function. ;)

I did an up-front donation because I didn't want a monthly or annual commitment. Today I have cash, tomorrow I may not.

But I may be interested in some sort of hosting arrangement, with PHP and MySQL.

I have a 20,000+ card baseball card collection. It would make a hell of an auction on Ebay. I would give that up for the Playground since I haven't even looked at it in 10 years.

It would require that we have a UP member that lives fairly close to Central, NY (I live in North Carolina) to handle the whole transaction, a hassle probably but an offer nonetheless.

An auction would be a cool idea, I have a bunch of computer gaming related stuff that just collecting dust that I would be more than happy to donate.

In the mean time I will be more than happy to help out with by signing up monthly - I can't do a lot right now, but I guess it's better than nothing. Hopefully it can be more in the near future.

Now time to go figure out paypal...
