UT & UP are far from dying. There have been lots of new faces around lately, and personally, I've never been as involved in the UT scene as I have become the last 6 months. Even though MM and KFC left, there are still many active admins around, and from what I hear, there's a lot of stuff brewing behind the scenes that we haven't seen yet. ;)

Also, there are no newbs on the servers, only apprentice regs-in-learning. :D

BTK is more mature than he was in the past, and those logs you posted are hardly anything out of the ordinary from what normally goes on in the channel. If you're banning him for cussing then you might as well ban everyone in there. You were telling me about "running away from problems" the other day, I don't see how banning BTK is any different. Just for the record, usually ChanServ can't keep up with a IRC program logging into multiple channels in rapid succession, so messages tend to trail behind. In my case, the rules notice didn't appear until 5 channels later. :eek: I added the link into the topic, because I've never seen that appear in the incorrect channel (I think it's 'pulled' by the client as opposed to being 'pushed' by ChanServ.)

I'll throw my $0.02 in for what it's worth.

While I think forum spammage is bad and should be dealt with appropriatly, I also expect to see more spam and a lot less restraint by the people in IRC. Banning someone from IRC should be done carefully, especially for a community like UP. From what little I have seen, I think Billy has matured a lot since he first showed up here and although he has some maturation left to go, I think he will evetually be an asset to the community. In that light, I think that if someone is complaining about him, they should explain to him what he is doing that is bothering them. That way he can correct the situation. With respect to Kingster, I think he is doing what he thinks is right. However, if nobody ever explains in detail to Billy what he is doing wrong, I don't think a ban can be justified.

I was talking in all caps just messing around with P6 and some other people when Tr@x said I smell a ban coming on. I then took off the caps and talked normal and I guess I pissed Rachel off. She won't let me back in even though I went all last night doing nothing wrong at all, and she banned me on sight this morning.

I also checked in forum rules, it says nothing about using caps lock. Not that I wasn't being immature, which I probably was, but she didn't even warn me. I had no idea I was doing anything wrong.
