Hmm i dont know how many people want mutant or alien or nucleur death rays so i will put up this poll to see.

I'm a newbie to mapping in UED so maybe you can tell me what you mean when you say "death ray". Are they like the laser beams in Quake2's lower mines where you walk through them and they cut you in two? "death ray" sounds like something that might do that. please explain...Thanks

A death ray is exactly how it sounds. It's a ray that causes death on touch. This can be done through adding a kill zone aroud the laser beam or can be made with a mover which kills on touch. I noticed though on UED2 that this function caused the editor to crash so i havent tried it yet on UED3. They probably wont cut you in half but they will certainly get you going for some good old rag doll movements.

that sounds like what i need for a map idea i had.
Need some kind of long, tubular death rays that kill (or lower your health) on touch, but aren't there all the time.

I did make a mpa once which had a long tuneel which you walked along and a certain way along lights suddenly turned on and you had to run from a lser. Pretty boring(and crashing) but hope to expand on.
