When a reviewer reviews a map i think he/she needs to know the gametype of the map.
A DM map can be a invasion map or a mutant map and than the map is not good for DM or some other gametype(s)!
I think when the details say its a invasion map or a mutant map that the reviewer needs to keep this in mind when he/she is making the review.

i'm sure they do keep that in mind. don't think there has been an invasion or mutant map yet though.

It's a good point-- did somebody miss one?

The author just needs to make it very clear.

Hm. That may explain a few things that showed up in the review.

Invasion needs plaenty of ammo and stuff for those later stages. But too much so for the map to be playable as a DM map.

I know, when you place to many ammo and weapons in a normal DM map its just a gun and run map.
I made a new map DM-Desert-Storms.
In this map you need to look around to get some ammo.
Got 1 tip when you wanna make a nice mideum sice DM map place 1 weapon whit 2 ammo packs around the weapon!

BTW i placed some ammo packs up-side-down,on the walls and thing like that guz i like to doe something other mappers dont.
This is in DM-Spacestation-nr59-twist.

As gametypes like Overload (http://overload.beyondunreal.com) , Assault (http://www.planetunreal.com/roar/) , and Deathball (http://www.deathball.net/) become popular, gametypes that take certain types of maps, shoulnt the playground make accomodations for these map types?

Just a thought.
