I was playing on ThornsV3 last night having a completely awful game. Like 3 frags vs. 25 deaths or something along those lines.
I realized why I was playing so awful at that point. It had to do with the fact that I was running straight at enemies.
1) Running straight at someone makes you such an easy target. The enemy barely needs to aim, all he needs to do is let off some ammo and you run right into it the bullets.
2) Moving forward and adjusting your aim is one of the hardest things to do. I was trying to run forward, then spin and let off a volley of rockets. Everytime i did this, my rockets would go straight into the ground. Sometimes killing myself, but ultimately leaving me an easy kill in the opponents base area. Moving backwards and being able to accurately target moving opponents is so much easier.
So even though the flag is forward, sometimes you have to go backwards to make a little progress.
(The Freshmaker doesn't mean to represent his playing skills as anything more than mediocre. However he has developed an expertise in mediocreness which he wishes to share to your advantage.)
