That map is actually one where *some* sniping can be effective. But, as usual, if you simply hunker down and camp right on top of the sniper rifle, it's a poor use of team personnel, especially if 3 players are doing exactly the same thing, which often seems the case on that map. If you're gonna snipe that map, sheesh, there are tons of great spots that are actually strategically useful.

My guess is that NAA got pissed at having no support on offense as the other team pulled ahead, and was trying to "prod" his snipers into more effective teamplay.

While I to understand the lameness of people who camp on the snipper rifle all game, I do not think their own team should piston them off. EVERYONE has the right to play as they see fit. I have been told this month after month when I argue about people campin the flag, and I mean campin,,,tent, little fire going, cookin hot dogs. All I am ever told is"I am playin defense" So who should define play style?(IF you figure it out let me know so I can start my campin rant again :D )

Good point Boobs. No one pistons people camping the flag, although I'm all for it. So if you're gonna piston snipers, piston campers as well. Let's have some consistency.

I've seen this same behavior out of a person going by the name Pop-A-Top. (This was within the last week.) It was really, really stupid behavior.
Not only was she / he pistoning off the campers, but also the NEW SPAWNS and the people trying to take out the oposing team's Snipe Campers. Beyond infantile and moronic; anti-sportsmanship.
People committing such acts should be instantly banned. :tsk:

I only started after you ignored me when I asked you to switch back.

If I had known you were going to make an issue of it, I would have SShot'd the whole conversation. As it is, I do have a lovely shot as you sail off into space, a vague glint of fear shining through your cloudy bovine eyes. Glossy 8x10's available on request.

Have to agree with NotAnAlias here, that is exactly what happened in reference to Nimda and the team switch. ...and good for him in pistoning him off into space.

I agree Boobs people should play as they want. But people who play like Nimda are fawking annoying. Sniping to protect the flag is one thing but just finding a nice perch and picking people off the ENTIRE match is lame. This is a CTF server, just go ahead and spec him, he doesn't even move from the perch no matter what CTF action is going on (i.e. his flag is being taken).

Good way to start out on the Playground...

I had JUST joined the server when I switched to red team out of preference (and BTW - red was down 2 players when I switched and teams were not unbalanced). I never saw anyone complaining about switching to make teams even (I was busy playing, ya know?) - plus since I had just joined the server for the first time that night I had not seen if red had any advantage or not from previous games. Perfectly legit. Did I EVER switch teams any other time that night, even if losing? No, I didn't. Do I regularly switch teams? No, I do not. There was no conversation going on except me notifying the rest of the people on the server that "NotAnAlias is a team killer" each time you pistoned me or rocketed me off the edge. Bottom line - no excuse for team killing like that. I did not spend the entire map at the sniper post, and seems I remember you trying to secondary-flak me off on platform with flak too at least once. I am usually pretty efficient whenever I have the sniper rifle, especially defending flag up there above. Seems your time could have been better spent helping to defend rather than trying to lower peoples scores. Again, great way to make an appearance here...

BTW - In reference to another post - I was DEFENDING there, and only went there 4 times. Just got pistoned off each time. I do not pick a perch and snipe no matter where flag is unlike someone else on our team that night that I could see perched permanently above the blue flag in cross-beams picking blue players off for no reason. If pistoning anyone off, it should have been that person. Or can you not TL up there?

Hmm... First off, can never be out of your league by speaking the truth. I am willing to drop it, but I expect not to see that same person doing the same immature thing again. As far as being useless, I seriously doubt that. If you do spec me, you will see I play defense, and most often I DO chase the EFC unless there are already MANY people chasing him/her (don't want to leave base empty where enemy can camp flag post or when flag is returned it is taken again immediately). If it is just me or me and one or 2 others, I give chase. Don't take Recons word for it, spec me yourself if you want the truth. You won't see me leaving anytime soon - been here well over a year (not so long in the forums though). He did do the WRONG thing considering I was NOT perched in the sniper position and I did NOTHING wrong but join the server in his eyes and switch to a team that was down 2 players within 60 seconds of joining for the night. Plus, each time pistoned off I was FOLLOWED to sniper spot and barely had time to even get a gun to move elsewhere - every time with our flag still on stand. I also run with our FC quite often. I will only stay if I have a bead on enemies chasing flag carrier from behind and can take them out (you can do that with sniper rifle ya know - if FC doesn't have someone right on them) - whatever is best for the flag carrier.

And what about the other person on red team that was perched in rafters over blue base sniping blue players when they spawned needlessly? THAT was the lamer of the team that gave no value. NotAnAlias was just in a bad mood or something that night, and I was the unlucky person to get picked on unnecessarily.

I will be off and on the servers for a while cause of going back to school - homework and all...

Never expected this thread to grow and stay active. And definitely did not expect people to jump to conclusions without actually being there. If it ever happens again, I will simply back everything up with screen shots to show the REAL "supposed" conversation, attacks in other places than the sniper rifle, team status, and time in-game. I was in the right, that person was in the wrong. Nothing anyone can say or do can change that.

I am done posting in this thread, as all facts have been laid out.

Willing to forgive for someone having a bad night. But next time screenshots will be provided. ;)

I've speced you a lot and you really don't do much to help your team although I'm sure you think you do. I think I even have a few demos of you back when you were always playing.

I wouldn't call you completely useless, but you need to adapt to the situation more readily.
Sniping is lame, but if that's what you feel most comfortable with then it would help if you got smarter about how to do it more effectively.

If you want to improve your value as a team player then I'd be happy to suggest a few specifics, but if you don't think that you need that, you're going to continue to attract negative comments about how you play.

I use to take defence back in my n00b days here and never cap. But it got boring so now I cap. I now went from 52 caps to 128 in 1-2 weeks.

My skill has greatly improved by this. Yes I keep track of my caps. Stats say 123 but I actully have 128.

Personally, I prefer a supportive role for my team. Cover for FC, Defense. Capping is for the more agile players. Then again, most anyone can cap with awesome cover and defense.

****, hes probally had more than 30 hours of play in 2 weeks freshie. plus you don't play o that much do you? you figure if you play every day for 2 weeks is 14 days. if only need to average 4 caps a day to get that many caps, if you play 4 games and cap once in each.

RARELY do I see him on a server with more than a couple names I recognize, and I can't tell you how many times I see him leave as soon as a reg inevitably smacks him around a couple times.

Anyone working on a map? CTF-PSY. Of course, there would only be sniper and shock rifles, and the flag would be surrounded by redeemers that regen every second. Psy = Fnix USA

His "Fnix" forums registration was terminated by admin. "Psy" is (supposedly) his little brothers account.

Within the first 2 weeks on the UP servers, he was kicked from the game 3 times by 3 different admins.

Believe it or not, hes not as bad as he was at first. LMAO

(BTW, Necrophobic is a RL friend of mine)

Thats good. I understand you man, but if you expect to kill someone on 1 on 1 you have to be good. I've beat many people 1 on1 and at the same time got my ass kicked.

I do always notice regs bringing ~PsY~ up in threads, and giving him more of a bad name.....I wasn't around when ~PsY~ was causing trouble(unless i just didnt notice).....but it is anoyying to me always seeing ~PsY~ brought up in negative manner, maybe thats why ~PsY~ acts like a dick towards some people heh

I actually enjoy playing with Fnix, right up until the words start coming out of his mouth. If the taunts and accusations would take a backseat to playing, there would not be as much negativity.

We worked well together on SavingV2 to take out snipers and make runs to come from behind and win.

Unchecking that box only takes away the big fat chat border and color overlay..the text still appears.
