Anyone hear ever read any Terry Pratchett novels, in particular the Discworld series?
I've just finished reading Guards, Guards and am now reading them in order. Just wondering if anyone had read them.
Take care all

The whole top shelf of my bookcase is Pratchett. Very highly recommended.
However don't start with the first book The Colour of Magic unless you've read a lot of other fantasy authors like Fritz Lieber, Anne McCaffrey, Robert Howard, and H.P. Lovecraft. It's mostly a parody of those authors and not really self-contained. The later novels where he parodies more well-known subjects and has a great story are a lot better.
Start with one that's either a standalone or the start of a sub-series (featuring the same characters):
Equal Rites
Mort
Guards, Guards
Wyrd Sisters
Pyramids
Moving Pictures
Small Gods

I love Terry Pratchett's Discworld series... GREAT stuff, probably the best literary humor you can find!
Even the "About the Author" is hilarious! :p

The book itself is still a good read.

Even the "About the Author" is hilarious!Hehe, especially the list of his former jobs, one of which was press officer for an electricity board. There's a great bit in Good Omens with a press officer trying to explain an "incident" at a nuclear power plant. (Not a meltdown or anything...the bit can't really be explained out of context so you have to read it to get it.)
