I loved the first two versions of the game, but after reading the description of the game I'm a bit disappointed. You no longer have control during the space battles. This was done to speed up the game I imagine. However, that's also a big part of winning the game. If the battles are reduced to a dice toss (and that's a computer dice toss) then there is less strategy needed to play the game which reduces the quality of the game being it is a STRATEGY game.

There will probably be lots of cool eye candy, epic length videos and other garbage that fill many games lately, but a lot less game. My guess is if you've played any MOO games or Stars or any of the space conquest variety this game will fall terribly short of what you hoped for in this type of game. Lots of eye candy, but thin on strategy and replayability.

Regardless of the many hours I've enjoyed playing MOO 1 and MOO 2, I will not be buying MOO 3.
